This Cookie Policy explains how Maintap uses cookies and similar technologies. In short: we use only the cookies needed to sign you in and keep the Service secure and working. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser. They let the site remember information between page views, such as the fact that you are signed in. Some cookies expire when you close your browser ("session cookies"); others remain for a set time.

Why Maintap uses cookies

Maintap uses cookies to:

  • Authenticate you and keep you signed in while you work (authentication and session cookies).
  • Protect the Service against forged requests and misuse (security cookies).
  • Make features work, such as showing a confirmation message after you save something, or letting a consumer view their bills after verifying their account in the online bill inquiry.

All of the cookies below are strictly necessary for the Service to work. For that reason they are set without a consent banner, and you cannot switch them off inside the Service.

Cookies we use

Cookie Type Purpose Lifetime
.AspNetCore.Cookies Authentication, necessary Keeps you signed in after you log in and identifies your sign-in session to the server. Session (removed when you close the browser); the server also ends the sign-in when it expires or is revoked.
.AspNetCore.Session Session, necessary Holds a session identifier so the server can remember your current context, such as the Organization you are working in. The data itself stays on the server. Up to 8 hours of inactivity.
.AspNetCore.Antiforgery.* Security, necessary Protects forms (for example sign-in and password reset) from cross-site request forgery. Session.
.AspNetCore.Mvc.CookieTempDataProvider Functional, necessary Carries a short one-time message, such as "saved successfully", to the next page you see. Session; removed once the message is shown.
wr_pbi_session Security / functional, necessary Online bill inquiry only: after a consumer verifies their account, it lets them view their bills for a short time without verifying again. Only sent to the bill inquiry pages, and not readable by scripts. Up to 45 minutes.

Cookie names follow the defaults of the web framework we use and may change as the Service is updated.

Analytics, advertising and third parties

Maintap does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, social-media pixels or other tracking technologies to profile you or follow you across websites.

Some pages load fonts or script libraries from third-party content delivery networks (for example Google Fonts, jsDelivr and unpkg). Those providers receive your IP address and browser details when they deliver the files and are responsible for their own practices. We do not set cookies for them and do not use these files for tracking, but we cannot control whether those providers use cookies of their own.

If you choose to pay online, you are redirected to a payment provider's site. That provider may set its own cookies, which are governed by its own cookie and privacy notices.

Preferences and similar storage

Besides cookies, the Service may use your browser's local storage to remember small interface choices and notices, such as whether the navigation sidebar is collapsed, or a message to show after a page reloads. This information stays in your browser, is not used for advertising, and can be cleared at any time in your browser settings.

Managing cookies

You can view, block or delete cookies in your browser's settings (look for "Privacy" or "Cookies"), and you can delete them whenever you like, for example by signing out and clearing site data. Instructions differ by browser; the browser's help pages explain how. Signing out of Maintap ends your sign-in session.

If you disable necessary cookies

If you block or delete the cookies listed above, parts of the Service will not work properly. You may be unable to sign in or stay signed in, forms such as the login page may be rejected, you may be repeatedly asked to verify yourself, and confirmation messages may not appear.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy if we change how the Service uses cookies, for example if we add a new feature. The new version will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
